The Jakobus chess group
SG Caissa Hamm 1981 attaches great importance to promoting young chess talent. In our youth section, children and young people learn the basics and tactics of chess in a playful way.
Training
Our youth training takes place every Friday from 17:30. Under the direction of our youth leader Justus Küper as well as Wilfried Keiber and Björn Gleißner, children (from age 5) and young people (up to 18) are introduced to chess in a playful way.

What the children learn
- Basics: pieces, moves and the board
- Chess tactics: checkmate, fork, pin, skewer
- Endgame technique: king + pawn, rook endgames
- Tournament experience: taking part in youth tournaments and club tournaments
