Frequently asked questions

🧒 What makes you special?

SG Caissa Hamm 1981 is a club for everyone who likes chess – from the very first game to competitive chess. The joy of playing and the community come first with us.

📍 When and where does the chess evening take place?

Every Thursday from 19:00 we meet at the Pelkumer Treff (Bürgerhalle), Am Pelkumer Bach 2, 59077 Hamm.

🎓 Is there training for children and young people?

Yes! For children and young people, training with the Jakobus chess group takes place every Friday from 17:30 free of charge at the Gemeindehaus Pelikanum, Kamener Str. 181, 59077 Hamm (siehe Jugend).

💰 What does membership cost for children and young people?

To take part in official tournaments, club membership is required. This is how the child is officially registered with the German Chess Federation (DSB). Our club pays the monthly fee to the DSB, so membership for children and young people is generally free of charge with us(!).

🤔 I'm a beginner – is this something for me?

Absolutely! Whether you have never played or have already gained your first experience – all skill levels are welcome. We will help you get started.

👋 Can I drop by once without obligation?

Yes, with pleasure. You don't have to be a member to come and have a look. Just drop by and join in – we look forward to seeing you.

♟️ Can I play on a team?

Yes! The club fields two teams: Caissa I in the Verbandsbezirksliga and Caissa II in the Bezirksklasse. Just speak to the match secretary.
